CoreNet Global Academic Challenge 2016-17

CoreNet Global is pleased to announce the 2nd CoreNet Global Academic Challenge sponsored by Cushman & Wakefield. The goal of the competition is to raise awareness of corporate real estate as a viable career opportunity for students around the world. In 2016-17, we are especially excited to invite students from around the world to participate in one of two competitions to be held in both Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Shanghai, China. We invite you to learn about corporate real estate (“CRE”) and apply your insights and experience to a problem facing the profession.

For each competition, four teams will be selected from among all the complete applications received. Teams and their faculty advisors will be provided transportation to either our North American or Asia-Pacific Global Summit and provided with lodging and Summit admission during the competition.

Participants will also be given complimentary student membership in CoreNet Global (retail value: $25) and a copy of The Essential Guide to Corporate Real Estate (retail value: $49.99). The winning team will receive $1,000 per student; and $5,000 for their home university to support corporate real estate education.

Update from our North American Summit Competition:

We challenged university students all over the globe to create the employee experience they themselves would like to have after graduation. Acting as teams of consultants students from Eindhoven University of Technology, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, The University of Houston, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign brought their own experiences to the floor of the Innovation Pavilion in Philadelphia and, interacting with Global Summit attendees, produced an enterprise solution relevant to the company’s business sector (finance, high-technology, insurance, and manufacturing) which:

  • Maximized the productive and creative ability of its human capital;
  • Increased the success rate for hiring top talent;
  • Reduced employee turnover; and
  • Earned the company “employer of choice” status.

The team from the University of Illinois won the competition, and you can read all about the competition and the students’ experiences at our blog.
