State of the Nation, Sydney

When:  Mar 28, 2017 from 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM (ET)
Associated with  Australia
This year, 2017 will witness the implementation of the outcome of a number of global events including BREXIT and the Trump as USA President. Economic and business cycles will be impacted and Australia is not immune. At the same, in the Corporate Real Estate (CRE) industry, we continue to grapple with never-ending technology and workplace changes that are making us re-think our approaches to align portfolios with business needs. Please join us for the CoreNet Global Australia 2017 State of the Nation. This will be presented in Sydney by Frank Gelber, BIS Oxford Economics.

Frank Gelber is a forecaster. He frequently speaks and writes on prospects for the economy and property markets. He is noted for sticking his neck out and saying what he thinks will happen, even when that view is unpopular or controversial. The focus is on how things will change, what that means for different market participants and what they should do about it.

His objective is to think beyond the current circumstances, to understand the consequences of economic behaviour. In a cyclical environment, the task is to understand sustainability, to understand how markets will develop on the logic of the players and how market logic will change as circumstances and perceptions evolve, to predict turning points, to understand what happens next.

Frank has special interest in economic issues and forecasting; prospects for industry sectors; cycles in activity driven by investment and demand and, in particular, property cycles; economic assessment and evaluation of financial consequences of alternatives; and investment strategy.
