2015 Scholarship Award

 

Award:      

A $3,000 Scholarship Award will be paid directly to the recipient and used to defray expenses associated with obtaining an undergraduate or graduate degree in a field that will lead to a productive career in the commercial real estate industry.  The Chapter also will pay for a one-year student membership to CoreNet Global.  The Scholarship will be publicly acknowledged and presented to the recipient at the Atlanta Chapter Education Forum, which will be held on Thursday, August 20th, 2015.

 

Requirements:

               -All applicants must be accepted or enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university geographically located in the State of Georgia, or a Georgia resident who is studying in an accredited school located in another state, and must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree related to commercial real estate (the “Qualified Program”).

               -All applicants must be a rising junior or above.

               -Scholarship funds may be used for expenses, including tuition, room and board, textbooks and materials, and any other expenses related to achieving a degree in the Qualified Program.

               -Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be considered for the Award.  Official transcripts will be required prior to final confirmation of the Award.

 

Selection Criteria: 

The selection of scholarship recipients will be determined by a committee made up of members of the Atlanta Chapter of CoreNet Global, with consideration of the following criteria:

-      The applicant’s indication of interest in pursuing a career in commercial real estate:  please specify where your interests lie within the commercial real estate industry and describe your plans upon completion of your degree.

-      The applicant’s record of scholastic achievement to date, including academic grade point average and extracurricular activities.

-      The applicant’s community service and/or employment.

-      The applicant’s economic need or situation.

-      The applicant’s recommendations by two people familiar with the applicant’s achievements or goals.  These would include professors, counselors, employers, colleagues, CoreNet Global members, and other individuals.
