Fisher and Paykel Talk and Tour

                                                                                

Due to Fisher & Paykel’s rapid growth in R&D, their vacant electronics factory was identified as a potential site for a large scale design centre accommodating 400 staff. At 5000m2 on one open plate, it has been suggested that this is the largest office single floor in the country.

CUSTANCE worked with Fisher & Paykel through an extensive collaborative design process which resulted in a world class design environment that clearly reflects the principles and philosophy of Fisher & Paykel. The project has recently received two gold awards at the 2014 DINZ Best Design Awards and was runner up to the overall Supreme award.

Jonathan Custance Project Designer Custance Associates  ​ ​	An industrial designer by training, Jonathan successfully operates in multiple design disciplines having won awards in architecture, lighting, industrial and interior design. While his design accomplishments are significant, it is his ability to understand the needs and desires of clients, then bring together talented project teams to translate them, that makes the real difference.  ​
Mark Elmore GM Design Fisher & Paykel Appliance Ltd ​	Mark Elmore, as an experienced designer, brought a valuable perspective into the design process. Seeking to achieve a more visible expression of F&P’s design process for increased innovation and efficiencies, as well as translating the brand positioning into a work environment.  ​
Wayne Jones Product Design Manager Fisher & Paykel Appliance Ltd ​	Wayne Jones formed the other half of the client interface and drove accountability for both Custance and F&P around fit for purpose, durability and financial parameters. Waynes detailed knowledge of every facet of F&P’s product development team was a valuable resource at the design table.  ​
