Join us to hear all about something dear to our hearts as Aucklanders – public transport and how we can get around the city better! Auckland’s transport challenge is an issue of concern for residents and those facing the challenges of managing a growing city. While Auckland aims to be the world’s most liveable city, scoring highly in categories such as safety and the environment, our report card on transport says “could do better.” Moderate growth projections are for 700,000 more Aucklanders in the next 30 years and we are tracking above that- it’s like adding Christchurch and Wellington combined, in just 30 years. The whole of the rest of New Zealand will grow by half that much. It is this growth that brings with it the need to respond to challenges of housing, transport, urban form and land use. The City Rail Link is a crucial part of the response, join us on Thursday 2nd July at 5.30pm to hear all about the the latest information on this project with the challenges and the opportunities that it presents for our city. Venue to be confirmed. A video of the City Rail Link Project Purpose. We look forward to seeing you there and debating this hot topic!
