EVENT DESCRIPTION
Consumer-driven e-commerce is pushing demand for free shipping, next day delivery, the reinvention of the retail space, and integrated physical and online shopping and services. As companies “fight for the last mile,” the panel will take a dive into how e-commerce is changing the real estate market.
SPEAKERS
Josh Sheely, Manager of Retail Projects, Citizens Bank
Josh has spent the past 5 years in corporate real estate focusing on retail banking multi-site programs. Josh currently serves as program manager overseeing a team responsible for all construction activities related to transforming the bank’s retail portfolio. This includes a wide range of projects inclusive of interior fit outs, branch renovations, and branch downsizes. Previously, Josh managed a team responsible for all facility management projects in the bank’s retail and corporate office portfolios, with a focus on asset preservation and energy conservation measures.
Reed Gilbert, Head of Real Estate, Wayfair
Reed has spent the past 2 years leading Wayfair’s physical footprint expansion in North America and Europe. Having started his career as an investment banker, he joined the world of real estate after business school, bringing finance and generalist perspectives. Currently, Reed focuses his time on leasing corporate offices and fulfillment warehouses and overseeing facilities operations. Balancing the static and long term nature of real estate with the fast changing and accelerating requirements of a young tech company provides a challenging and exciting environment, as well as constant opportunities to learn.
Peter Gori, Director, Boston Retail Brokerage, Newmark Grubb Knight Frank
Peter Gori joined Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in 2015 as a director in the Boston office's retail brokerage group. Specializing in urban retail and restaurant leasing, investment sales and development consulting, Mr. Gori represents a variety of tenants and institutional landlords, as well as developers of mixed-use projects throughout Greater Boston. Mr. Gori brings more than 15 years of combined real estate development, consulting and permitting experience across Boston, Cambridge, Somerville and the inner suburbs to NGKF. Having previously served as the senior manager of public realm projects for the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA), Mr. Gori assists owners and tenants with permitting, development review, community relations and government affairs, regulatory compliance, and licensing. Mr. Gori earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Boston College.
Christy Haughey, Leasing Representative, Boston Properties
Christy Haughey is a Leasing Representative at Boston Properties, where she and her team are responsible for leasing office and retail space in the company’s Boston and Cambridge portfolios. Although primarily office space, Boston Properties’ buildings have become increasingly retail-friendly, with both office amenities and shopping or dining destinations added in more developments than ever before. Christy’s largest retail project is the Prudential Center, which just underwent a major repositioning and expansion. The Prudential Center consists of 600,000 square feet of retail at the base of 3 million square feet of office space.
