CoreNet Global Australia Chapter is inviting the next generation of transformational talent to participate in building the Future Workplace at their third Hackathon which will be held on August 19-20, 2019.

Whether you’re a graphic designer, entrepreneur, engineer, marketer, student or from any other discipline, this event is for those interested in stepping outside their comfort zone and being a part of shaping the future workplace.

So what is a Hackathon?
A Hackathon is an internationally used and recognised term for a 2-3 day creative, intensive competition where people come together and make a tangible product or solution using technology over a compressed time period.  It is an open event to anyone who wants to network, have fun, learn from mentors, meet industry leaders, win prizes and do something innovative.

The theme is #FutureWorkplaceHack . This event is part of CoreNet Global Australian Chapter’s annual conference and is proudly supported by BGIS and RMIT Incubator.  Catering is provided for the event.

Prizes
Teams will be in the running for an overall win of $5,000 prize money.  The winning team will be invited to pitch their idea at the 2019 Annual Conference on 4 September in front of 300+ CRE Executives.

Who am I? Hacker, Hipster or Hustler…
The Hacker - eats, sleeps & breathes code. The actual tech person who builds the product, creates the algorithms, intellectual property & resulting technology that forms the building blocks of the business. The hacker is instrumental in choosing the coding environment & platform for the start-up to sustain growth.

The Hipster - eats, sleeps & breathes design. This is the designer that makes sure the product is delivering the best customer experience. The designer sets best practice in marketing, brand identity, user experience, & the look and feel of the product.. sometimes even the copywriter as well.

The Hustler - eats, sleeps & breathes the business model. This is the business savvy person who makes sure you make money. The Hustler can speak to the long and short term vision, builds the team, ignites the passion, manages projects, updates the business model, forms partnerships & guides the team along the journey whilst creating and strengthening the culture.

Can I come along alone or do I need a team?
Come alone or come in a team – all welcome. Hackathons are great places to network and meet new and exciting people to challenge you, not to mention grow your skill sets along the journey and win $!
