We are on the brink of a major technology revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work and relate to one another. This revolution has been coined the Fourth Industrial Revolution by the World Economic Forum and is characterised by a fusion of technologies that is blurring the lines between the physical, digital, and biological spheres. In this year’s symposium, we want to look beyond buildings and understand what the implications are of these physical, digital and biological trends. We also want to understand how humans will fit into this new world order and how we build and foster human connections. The way we think about buildings and the urban environment will change as we move through the 21st century. We are excited to bring together a range of speakers who will share their views on a variety of topics beyond buildings to prepare us for the fourth industrial revolution.
