Keynote speaker: Rosemary Milkins

Rosemary Milkins is the former Deputy Commissioner (Corporate Services) NSW Police Force.  Rosemary is now the Director of 40 Learnings Consultant & Advisory Services, providing consultancy and advisory services on a range of reform programs.

Rosemary has held a number of senior positions in NSW Government as Deputy Chief Executive at Fire & Rescue, Assistant Director General, public sector workforce for NSW Premier and Cabinet and Director Executive & Corporate Support at NSW Department of Health to name but a few.

During Rosemary’s extensive career with the NSW Public Service Rosemary has contributed to high level policy development, industrial relations strategy, workforce development and organisation reform.

Rosemary didn’t list this in her bio, as is her character to be humble and just get the job done, in 2016 Rosemary was awarded the Public Service Medal.  This medal, which you can only ever be awarded once, acknowledges outstanding service by employees of the Australian Government.  This is the highest accolade a public servant can receive.

So after 40 years in the public service, with 20 at executive level, what are the key lessons Rosemary learnt in her career?   Sit back and enjoy this, Rosemary is going to take us on a light hearted journey - looking at the dos and don’ts of leadership and management.

Panel – What issues are we face in a multi-generation workplace?

Corporate Real Estate (CRE) is all about people. We need to understand organisational change, generational adjustment and diversity and inclusion. The more we understand it, the more dynamic our workplace our profession shall become.

  • Moderator: Amanda Morton, Contract Performance and Admin Manager, Broadspectrum Property
  • Georgia Henry, Facilities Coordinator, BGIS
  • James Tonkin, Head of Federal Government Business, JLL
  • Brett Weeks, Transaction Manager, JLL
  • Karen Boyd, Department of Defence

Panel - CRE Tech

The search for the holy grail continues. Focus and investment in CREtech / Proptech is at an all-time high. Will there be an Amazon for the CRE industry? Or countless organisations offering specific solutions to different parts of the industry? Are we finally seeing the technological efficiency drive that accountants dream of? The 4th industrial revolution is now starting to impact corporates and the CRE industry.

A panel of industry experts to discuss how this shifting focus from pipe dreams to increased efficiency will impact us all.

Avoiding the tears and tantrums of workplace change

Chris Alcock is a leading expert in workplace strategy and workplace change with a portfolio of current or completed projects for client organisations that include the ABC, the ACT Government, Auckland Council, the Australian Parliament, Campbelltown Hospital, CSIRO, the Department of Industry Innovation and Science, Flinders University, Macquarie University, the University of Melbourne, the National Measurement Institute of Australia, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the Victorian Health and Human Services Building Authority.

This presentation will identify the ways in which workplace change can be introduced that minimises staff reluctance or resistance and optimises project outcomes. The presentation will reference actual case studies and will include audience participation where attendees will be asked at the commencement to identify ten ways to make workplace change painless and will then be scored at the conclusion with the highest score being awarded the CoreNet Workplace Change Trophy.
