December 12th will be our sixth annual event supporting Philabundance, the region’s largest hunger relief organization. Philabundance provides food to 90,000 individuals each week via neighborhood distribution programs and 350-member agencies including food pantries, shelters, and emergency kitchens in the Delaware Valley. One in five people in the Philadelphia area face hunger. Our volunteer work will take place in Philabundance’s Hunger Relief Center near the Philadelphia Sports Complex in South Philadelphia. The Center is the main distribution center for the organization’s sorting and packing operation to support supplemental and emergency food items. Our work is in a safe and secure area and involves sorting and packaging cans and boxes of groceries and packaged meats. The work is light-weight, easy, and rewarding. Contact Gary Marx to register.
