Occupiers Insight Series #2: Smart buildings and data; practical application for the CRE profession

When:  Sep 26, 2019 from 08:00 AM to 10:00 AM (UTC)
Associated with  United Kingdom

Our Insights events have been developed exclusively for our UK End User members with the purpose of creating a forum to discuss contemporary themes with their direct peer group. Our objective is to feed back any findings or ‘Occupier Insights’ to the wider UK and global membership.

A review of almost every End User Member organisation’s published Corporate Social Responsibility information will tell you about its business approach contributing to sustainable development by delivering economic, social and environmental benefits for all stakeholders.

Digital twin, block chain, Internet of Things … these are just a few of the buzzwords flying around the industry. But what do they mean and how can we get simple answers to questions about how to implement these technologies within the workplace. Even with so much discussion around smart buildings and data, the value of smart buildings still remain a mystery to many in the industry. The reality is that these technologies are becoming more affordable, accessible and easier to adopt.

Join us for an event where you will hear from an industry leader who has done it all before and will be sharing how to practically implement smart building technologies. This will be followed by a panel discussion from occupiers in the industry who are at various stages in their smart building journeys.

Topics that will be discussed will include:

  • Understanding the need and a strategic approach
  • Innovative business models and taking advantage of opportunity
  • Overview of sensors (telemetry) and feedback loop including possible solutions
  • Approaches to implementing intelligent assets for new and existing builds
  • Gaining insights from data and how to use it to add value
Occupier Insights will explore how the wider industry can best support the occupiers to meet their commitments. It will identify what is working as well as what is not!

Speakers include:
Julie Lapsley, Customer Lead - New buildings Milton Keynes and Bootle, Santander
Michelle Marwood, Blackstone, Senior Vice President, Head of Corporate Services Operations, EMEA & India
