Moderator Wendy Block Feldman, Senior Managing Director, Savills Studley - Washington

Wendy Feldman Block is an award-winning commercial real estate executive serving tenants in the Washington, DC area at Savills Studley. As Senior Managing Director, Wendy has expertise in build-to-suit transactions, leases, due diligence and acquisitions and dispositions. In 2017, Wendy became the first broker in the world to advise a client, American Society of Interior Designers, who achieved both WELL and LEED Platinum certifications. She is now widely acknowledged as the foremost expert broker and thought leader in pursuing WELL Building Standard in the DC region. Over her 31-year career, Wendy has completed sales and leasing transactions totaling nearly 12 million square feet. Within the last five years alone, she has arranged almost 100 deals, totaling just shy of 1.7 million square feet. Wendy has been recognized twice as one of the top earners in the country and received numerous professional accolades. She has represented many of the region’s premier associations and corporations, and more than 10 percent of the nation’s leading 200 law firms. Notable recent clients include Pillsbury, Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and Student Conservation Association.

 

Panelist No. 1: Ken Wilson FAIA, FIIDA, ASID, LEED Fellow, Design Principal, Perkins+Will

Ken Wilson is a Design Principal and the Design Director for Interiors in the Washington, DC office of Perkins+Will. He is also one of two co-global design directors for interiors and serves on Perkins+Will’s Design Board and Sustainability Council. Ken has been practicing for over 35 years and his portfolio includes architecture, interiors, graphics, and product design. He is the only architect in the world to hold fellowships in the AIA, IIDA, and the Green Building Certification Institute (LEED Fellow). His projects have been published in seven different countries and have received over 120 national and local design awards. In 2005 Ken was named “Designer of the Year” by Contract magazine, and in 2018 he received ASID’s Designer of Distinction Award which annually honors one professional who has established a body of superior work demonstrating creativity, excellence, and innovation.

 

Panelist No. 2: Manoj Dalaya, AIA, LEED AP, AICP, Principal, KGD Architecture

Manoj Dalaya is an architect and planner at KGD Architecture who specializes in the design and planning of corporate buildings and work environments. He utilizes a collaborative and research-oriented approach guided by considerations of economics, function, and aesthetics. Manoj is known for his innovative designs and focus on wellness and sustainability. His projects have received more than 50 design awards. He has lectured locally, nationally, and internationally on the built environment. Manoj is reshaping building form and urban environments to meet the demands of today’s communities while looking to the future and fostering sustainable development.

 

Panelist No. 3: Jonathan Fitch, ASLA, Principal, Landscape Architecture Bureau [LAB]

Jon Fitch has extensive experience in the site planning, landscape design, management and implementation of a broad range of projects nationwide and overseas. He has designed the landscapes for mixed-use developments and individual commercial buildings, urban squares and streetscapes, schools and colleges, urban market-rate and subsidized housing projects and parks, both highly-urbanized and in larger contexts. Many of these projects are on rooftops, both on grade and elevated. In addition, Jon has been active in design education. He currently teaches at the Washington-Alexandria Architecture Consortium, has taught in Harvard University's Graduate School of Design for three years and served on the faculty of the School of Architecture at Howard University for five years. He has also taught at the Rhode Island School of Design, the University of California at Los Angeles, the Catholic University of America and the University of Maryland.
