2nd Harvest’s COVID protocols:

With the health and safety of our staff and volunteers as our highest priority, each volunteer should register individually so they can sign the waiver, answer the pre-screening questions, and receive notifications. They can also cancel their own volunteer shifts, should their ability to volunteer change. Our pre-screening questions follow CDC guidelines (found here: www.2harvest.org/volunteer), we ask that participants ensure that prior to their shift they are still able to meet the volunteer criteria. We do screen again upon arrival and must turn away volunteers who are no longer eligible to volunteer. These have been updated recently and are in effect on 11.2.2020 – if you have volunteered with us prior to these changes, please review the updated pre-screening questions.

The information below outlines the requirements for volunteers, including our current screening questions and the link to the volunteer sign-up so you can provide it to those interested in volunteering. These screening questions may change as safety guidelines evolve but we will keep our website updated with any screening questions, you can also check back with us for changes before volunteering as well. Feel free to use information below that would be helpful when sending out your invite to colleagues!

-----------------
Second Harvest Heartland is hosting small groups of volunteers with extra precautions in place (screening questions, thermal temp. check, masks required, and gloves given). Volunteers are required to wear masks during their shifts and are asked to bring their own, we do have some available if needed. Please do not wear open toe shoes or sleeveless shirts.

Volunteers will sort and pack items such as fresh produce, cans, and pre-packaged items into food boxes. Once sorted, Second Harvest Heartland distributes these items to agency partners that serve our hungry neighbors.

You will be screened prior to your volunteer shift, please ensure that you read our screening questions in their entirety on our web-site prior to registering for any shifts. You can find this information at www.2harvest.org/volunteer. Volunteers unable to pass the screening questions when on-site will not be allowed to volunteer for their scheduled shift.
