Mike Knipper is the Head of Procurement & Property Services at Citizens Bank.  He has overall responsibility for all real estate activities for over 75 offices and 1100 branch locations, as well as the management of all vendor relationships. Knipper has extensive experience in real estate, procurement, aviation and the hospitality industry in multiple countries.

One of Knipperā€™s most notable accomplishments to date was leading the successful project to build Citizens new state-of-the-art campus in Johnston, R.I, home to more than 3,000 colleagues. The new campus, which was completed on time and on budget, was designed to drive greater teamwork, innovation and efficiency in an environmentally sustainable setting.

Prior to joining Citizens in 2013, Knipper led the real estate, commodity and procurement teams as Senior VP of Enterprise Services at The Hartford.  Prior to The Hartford, Knipper was with ING in Atlanta as the Senior VP of Procurement and Property  Services for North and South Americas. Prior to ING, Knipper was with Aetna, where he successfully reorganized the travel and aviation team.  Knipper began his career in the hospitality industry, where he spent 20 years managing hotels in the Caribbean, Mexico and Manhattan.

Throughout his career, Knipper has always held the belief that developing a great team that is empowered, is the key to success.

He currently serves on the RI Government Efficiency Commission. The commission, chaired by Department of Administration Director Michael DiBiase, is charged with recommending ways for the State of Rhode Island to streamline its service delivery, enhance efficient operations, and deliver cost savings through programmatic and real estate rightsizing.
