Tell me how you first got involved in with CoreNet
A colleague at my previous firm recommended that I get involved with CoreNet in 2018. I went to my first event at Diageo in Stamford and had a great experience!
What's your first memory related to CoreNet?
The event at Diageo!
What has surprised you most being a member and in your various roles?
How much fun I would have. I first got involved in CoreNet because I was in a business development role looking for leads. I did not expect to enjoy my involvement so much.
What do you find most challenging about CoreNet?
Sometimes things don’t happen as fast as I would like. Whether its finding new business opportunities for my firm, or organizing our Young Leader events, but that is because CoreNet is about lifetime involvement and creating relationships that last for your entire career. Great things take time.
What do you wish other people knew about CoreNet?
If you’re going to be involved, be involved. Join a committee and do the work. You’ll build relationships with your committee members that will last for your entire career. You’ll also develop a broader understanding of CRE and how all the different people and companies work together.
Tell me about some of the people you've met while working on CoreNet
Too many incredible people to list. I’ve built strong relationships with most of our CT/Westchester members, as well as many regional, national, and global relationships.
Tell me about someone who has influenced your decision to work with CoreNet
Again, I could mention a lot of people, but if I’m just going to mention one person, that would have to be Scott Tibbo. Scott brought me onto the board and has been a great supporter of my work with the Young Leaders program from the start. Appreciate you, Scott!
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
I’m an open book and I talk too much, so I’m not sure I could surprise anyone at this point.
What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining a local CoreNet chapter?
Do it. As long as it applies to the career you have, or the career you want.
What do you think will change about our chapter over the next five years?
I’m sure we’ll continue to thrive just as we have over the past five years.
What sorts of trends do you see with CoreNet and in the industry?
I think technology and AI are going to continue to change the way we see data and make decisions. It’s all about providing a quality experience for end users and technology and AI will help us deliver a better product as they continue to advance.
What do you do when you aren't working or volunteering with CoreNet?
I have two kids and a baby so we have our hands full right now. My hobbies/ passions are basketball and golf.
What else can you tell me about your experience with CoreNet?
My involvement with CoreNet has taken me to so many cool places: Last year’s Summit in Chicago, 2023 ERS in Washington DC, 2022 ERS in Philadelphia, countless buildings in CT/NY, sporting events, the list goes on. Like I said previously, its more fun than I initially expected!
