President's Message

Chris Horblitt

As I pen my final letter as President of this incredible organization, I am grateful for having had the opportunity to serve in this role.  As many of you who volunteer regularly to chapter activities can appreciate, what I have gained from this experience far exceeds anything I have been able to give.  I was also fortunate to follow so many terrific leaders before me who laid the path for the Chapter’s success and were more than willing to help me in my journey.

Here are a few things I have learned along the way . . .

I have learned that it does in fact take a village – so many talented people, sponsors and organizations make up the special fabric of what this Chapter is today.  Equally important, I have learned that we are part of a global organization that continues to help each of our members add value to our companies and contribute to the success of our firms.  Finally, I have learned that it does take an exceptional Executive Director to help guide us, so thank you Carol for your support and advocacy.

I will leave you with three brief thoughts as I pass the torch to an incredibly talented, intelligent and exceptional leader, Cynthia Keliher, Partner at McCarter & English here in Boston and our Chapter’s new President.

  • On the past: It has been a successful three years with the programs, events and networking opportunities that are firing on all cylinders and meeting our Strategic Initiatives on virtually every measure.
  • On the future: Our Chapter is well-positioned for success with the infrastructure, Chapter and committee leadership, and a strong financial position that enables us to continue to provide value to our members.
  • As for the people: Well, that is the secret sauce. The future is as bright as ever with some of the most elite firms and incredible people driving our organization's success forward. The people in our Chapter shape its culture and values, and strive to collaborate and help one another succeed.

I want to thank the Executive Committee members for providing me incredible support, guidance and counsel throughout my term.  I also want to thank the Board and the Legacy Council for being engaged, focused, and committed to moving our chapter forward.  I have learned so much from the experience and appreciate the support I have received in so many countless ways.

To all of the volunteers who tirelessly contribute on a regular basis to the programs and events, through sponsorship, engaging as mentors, or simply willing to network, I say well done!  These are the contributions and the engagement that continue to make this the premier real estate organization in New England.

I am excited about my next role supporting the Chapter and continuing to work with all of you.

Sincerely,
SigCHorblitt
