The year has started with so many economic uncertainties that no one really knows what 2012 has in store. Will Europe pull through and keep the Euro intact? Will the US recover from the sub prime melt down? Will China spearhead the way and lead the world out of recession? If I knew the answers to these questions, I certainly would not be in an investment banking support role, I would be running it ! With this in mind, the committee came up with the appropriate theme of “Managing Uncertainty” for 2012. Brace yourself for an exciting programme of events to guide you through what could be a very bumpy 2012.
The first event of the year is an absolute must. The speaker MJ Jennings, from Active Communications, is a genius when it comes to communication and managing change. She will be hosting a Presentation and Communication Skills Workshop on the morning of February 15th at the Hong Kong Club.
Other events planned for the year will cover topics such as Cutting Edge Workplace Design Trends and Technology, Coping with Disasters, APAC Economy - where is it heading. We also intend to line up a number of exciting C-suite guest speakers. In addition, the Hong Kong Chapter will host its own CoreNet Discovery Forum in Hong Kong for the first time. These sessions are a great opportunity for end users to engage and challenge each other.
Also, hot off the press, we will be stepping into the world of social networking by setting up our own LinkedIn site. As business becomes more global and the world becomes smaller, networking is growing in importance as a business tool. Watch this space for news on the launch of our LinkedIn site, and stay connected!
