Message from the Vice Chairman

Dear Members and Friends,

Kung Hei Fat Choy!

I am delighted to announce that David Chang from HSBC, will be taking over as Chair for the CoreNet Global Hong Kong Chapter after Chinese New Year. I will partner with him as Vice Chair and look forward to working with Dave and the entire CoreNet HK committee to provide our members with an innovative and exciting schedule of educational and social events. Our goal is to provide our members with learning and connection activities that create excitement for the entire Corporate Real Estate community in Hong Kong.

Last year, we hosted 19 events in total, a record for the HK Chapter, with one of them being our annual signature event, The Big Squeeze, an experience focused on the pressures of the corporate world and, in response, the changing workplace. With over 130 people in attendance, the event, which also showcased the latest workplace designs, provided everyone with a thought provoking evening, exploring the themes of innovation, efficiency, and business pressure in the Asia-Pacific corporate real estate industry. Please be on the lookout for our next signature event in November this year!

Another success from last year was from our Young Leaders Group, where we have seen a y-o-y 75% increase in the number of Young Leaders attending the YLG breakfasts. We have already lined up our experienced leaders and mentors for the year – don’t miss the opportunity to hear their views and tips for career success

2014 has already started on a high, with our recent oversubscribed event ‘The Service Providers’ Perspective: Asia in 2014’ focusing on forecasts for the Asia-Pacific markets. Our next event, held on the 19th February, will focus on Stakeholder Management and imparting change in the workplace, led by experts from EC Harris.

We will be organising at least an event a month for 2014 and are working with RICS to provide members with learning opportunities that can also count towards formal CPD credit.

The CoreNet Global Asia Pacific Summit in Singapore will be taking place on March 25th-27th 2014 so I hope to see most of you there. David, Emily Gray, Jonathan Moore, and I will be there so we look forward to reuniting with old friends and connecting with new members!.

I hope you all had a wonderful Lunar New Year and I look forward to seeing you at our future events. Best of luck for a successful 2014!
