Young Leaders Annual Meet & Greet

The CoreNet Young Leaders hosted their 2015 Annual Meet & Greet at STK on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. The special evening was designed to introduce prospective members to the chapter’s programs and initiatives and connect young professionals in the corporate real estate community. Over 100 people attended this sold out event with each Young Leader member bringing a prospective member 35 years old or younger.


 
Embracing Change: Communication Strategies in Turbulent Times


On Thursday, February 26, 2015 the Women’s Community hosted an interactive event on Embracing Change: Communication Strategies for Corporate Real Estate Professionals (CRES) in Turbulent Times. Speaker Robert J. Bies, who presented at “standing room only” sessions at the CoreNet Summit in DC in October 2014 guided attendees through an exercise that focused on “storytelling” as a key communication tool to energize people, keep them moving forward to achieve their organization’s mission, and enable them to communicate effectively with C-suite and all levels of staff to obtain “buy-in” of change. Dr. Bies helped participants learn effective leadership skills to position themselves for success in getting that buy-in will help build their own “brand” as an influential CRE. Resilience: Are You Prepared for the Next Superstorm?

On Wednesday, February 4, 2015, the Sustainability committee hosted a panel on resilience titled Are You Prepared for the Next Superstorm? at Mohawk Showroom in the Flatiron District. The speakers included Chip Logan, Managing Director of Global Real Estate of BNY Mellon, Michael Sciara, Partner of John W. Baumgarten Architect, P.C. and Vincent Warner, Managing Principal of WB Engineers & Consultants. The moderator of the panel discussion was Hussain Ali-Khan, Director of CBRE and Co-Chair of the CoreNet NYC Sustainability Committee.




The Program Committee Hosted Its First Program of the Year at the Grand Hyatt New York

On Tuesday, January 13, 2015, the Programs committee hosted their first event of the New Year titled 2015 New York Real eState of Mind. The moderator of the panel discussion was Doane Kelly, President of KLG Advisors. The speakers included Keith Cheatham, Senior Vice President of Corporate Real Estate of NBCUniversal Enterprise, John J. Gilbert, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Rudin Management, Ken McCarthy, Senior Managing Director for Economic Analysis and Forecasting of Cushman & Wakefield and Jenna Tatum, Policy Advisor of the NYC Mayor's Office of Sustainability. Over 150 members and non-members alike were in attendance.






CoreNet NYC Hosts Nearly Sold-Out New Year's Party at Newly Reopened Rainbow Room

Over 400 CoreNet members and sponsors from the corporate real estate industry gathered to celebrate the start of the New Year on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, topping last year's attendance. The event was hosted at the much anticipated, newly reopened Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center, featuring revamped modern decor and refreshed gourmet menus.
