What keeps you up at night?
My main worry or self-criticism is to not become complacent, to maintain communication within the marketplace and actively chase opportunities.

What three words embody your personal brand?
Approachable, receptive, detailed

What is the one app you can’t live without?
Instagram…. I love capturing memories…. And Facebook to share them (particularly important as an Expat)!!

Outside of work, I enjoy running, piano playing, cooking and Skyping home!

What are the key relationships that have mattered most?
Throughout my career, I have encountered some great mentors. Their guidance has been invaluable.

What are the main sources of support or resistance you encounter?
Social networking can be both a blessing and a curse. I have found some people do not wish to be approached this way, but so long as you keep professional and polite it can help open doors.

I am motivated by confidence in our ability to deliver an exceptional service. It would be impossible to promote something I did not truly believe in.

What is it like to work in the Dubai?
Dubai is such a mix of cultures and people. As an expat I was worried about my inability to speak Arabic, but because of the diversity here, English is predominantly used. It is really inspiring to meet with other expats from around the world and learn about their cultures. As such, clients' requirements also vary considerably and standards are usually high because of Dubai being a central hub for international businesses. It’s exciting to be a part of the growing community here.

What are your career prospects?
I hope to become a Business Development Director one day, and manage a team.

How did you come into your current role?
From originally working in television straight from school, I wanted build my career in a marketing role and fate brought to my attention an opening with a Main Contractor in the UK. After a few years of experience, I decided to move out of my comfort zone and explore the world – with plenty of opportunities in Dubai, particularly in construction, it seemed the obvious choice!

Are you able to work on large scale projects?
Yes – once we are awarded any project, I am required to maintain contact with our clients throughout the process to ensure they are kept informed and collect feedback.
