A message from our new Chapter Chair
2023 marks the transition to CoreNet Global Australia’s new leadership team and I’m thrilled to take over from Angela Barwick as the new chair. Angela has been an inspirational leader over the past two years and we thank her for commitment to CoreNet Global and her new role as immediate past Chapter Chair.
I have been a member of CoreNet since 2015 starting as a Young Leader and moving into the membership, program and then ID&E committee. I am personally committed to CoreNet Global's mission to advance the practice of corporate real estate, including having served as an MCR faculty member. Over the coming two years of my term, I’m excited for the responsibility of further raising the profile of corporate real estate and consolidating CoreNet Global’s role as the profession's voice.
I have supported Angela as chair elect for the past two years and I am excited to be able to bring my skills and expertise to the role. As an End User, I have a unique opportunity to be able to use this platform to support and bring new end user members to our community, as well as bring a new perspective to the leadership seat to help shape our program of events. Having also worked extensively as a Service Provider, I also understand their ongoing needs and the importance of having both end users and service providers in our CRE community. My goal is to also ensure that ID&E remains a key part of our DNA for the Australia Chapter, and believe having diversity in our member base is so important to ensure that we create meaningful connections and relevant content to our community.
I look forward to leading this incredible organisation over the next two years, together with our new executive team. I have the privilege of working with some of the best people in our industry and look forward to their leadership journey and positive energy with new ideas for the future of our Chapter.
Our 2023 executive team is:

So, what can you expect in the year ahead? In 2022, we held our first event in Adelaide and look forward to more events in this city in 2023. Across the country, we’re planning more site tours and content-based events after survey feedback from you, our members. Perth and Canberra will continue to be a growing market for us and as always, our east coast events will continue throughout the year. And of course, there’s our national conference in August, which is always a highlight. Planning is underway now and we can’t wait to share the program with you as it develops further.
We are also pleased to be continuing with our local MCR program with graduation occurring in the middle of 2023 (including our MCR scholarship student, Ujwal Lakra) and congratulations to our QPCR (Qualified Professional of Corporate Real Estate designation) sponsorship recipient Cida Ghosn. We look forward to following her journey towards achieving her QPCR.
I look forward to working with my team to provide members with an engaging program of events, valuable networking connections and skills development opportunities and as always, we would love to hear your ideas on how CoreNet Global Australia can continue to maximise the value that we offer and look forward to a successful year for all.
