Young Leaders’ Charity Event for LandAid - Softball & Olympics Opening Ceremony

Date: 27 July 2012
Venue: Regents Park, Pitch 17

CoreNet Global UK Chapter members had some sporting fun to get in the mood for the Olympics and help raise money for LandAid, the property industry's charity of choice. The UK Chapter’s Young Leaders hosted a softball tournament in Regents Park. After the game, they retired to a local pub garden to watch a screening of the Opening Ceremony.

  • YLs raised £1,180 for LandAid, breaking through our target of £1,000
  • Money raised went towards vital resources to keep the Bruce House centre running, which provides support for disadvantaged young people and houses up to 49 people
  • The YL team spent the day painting 2 rooms in the hostel, in lovely salad green & bubblegum pink colours!
  • Everyone involved had a great time and demonstrated CoreNet’s commitment to the LandAid charity and young people both within and outside the property industry
  • We hope to repeat the Charity event next year – perhaps moving on to a more challenging event. Watch this space!

Young Leaders' Breakfast Forum - Stratford City regeneration:  sprint or marathon?

Date: Tuesday, 17 April 2012
Venue: Westfield Stratford City, Stratford, London, E20 1EJ

UK Chapter Young Leaders first event open to all members ...

Stratford City regeneration: sprint or marathon? From the outset, the legacy of the Stratford area and improving the lives of those who live in it has been a central theme of London’s 2012 bid. Post-Olympics, the site will boast the largest urban park in Europe and will be one of the best connected areas, from both a transport and technology standpoint, in London. With over 2 million sq ft of office space expected to be constructed before the Games, Stratford is also aiming to become London’s newest office location.

Will the investment in the 2012 site and regeneration of the surrounding Stratford area ensure that it becomes a key location for businesses? Will occupiers be tempted away from established locations such as Canary Wharf and the West End? Come and join our breakfast forum to hear lively debate from our expert panel, including panellists from Newham Borough Council and Westfield.
